Apprenticeship

MTech recognizes the need for continuous training to maintain the highest levels of skill and competence demanded in this industry. Experience has demonstrated that the only practical and sound method of preparing workers for skilled occupations is through planned apprenticeship, providing for employment and the training under actual job conditions, by skilled workers and at wages fair to the apprentice’s skill. In addition, the apprentice’s knowledge and understanding of the trade is broadened through participation in approved courses of related and supplemental training.

MTech’s apprenticeship program is registered with the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training through Construction Industry Training Council of Colorado. Two construction trades are represented in this program, Sheet metal, and Pipefitter. Heating and Air Conditioning Technician apprenticeship is provided in-house.

An apprentice, who is accepted into the MTech program, works for MTech as a full time employee earning real money on real jobs. During class time, which is one night per week for 4 hours, they are taught relevant subjects to the particular trade. In addition, safety, industry standards and company structure are included in the class topics.

The apprenticeship period is structured for a four-year time frame. Upon completion, the Department of Labor certifies the apprentice.
