MTech Raises $10,000 for Suicide Prevention at 1st Annual Clay Shoot

MTech Mechanical held its first annual Samborski Memorial Clay Shoot on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Kiowa Creek Sporting Clays. Due to the pandemic, the event was limited to MTech team members but is anticipated to open participation to the public in 2021. $5000 was raised completely through employee donations and matched by MTech to donate $10,000 directly to the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Colorado.

“Due to the current pandemic, our team had to adapt and only allow limited participation at the clay shoot,” said MTech President, Marco Capitelli. “Despite the restrictions, our team truly stepped up to support an incredible organization and pay tribute to two of our great team members, Bill and his son Will, who we lost in a tragic accident in early March. Our mission to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention will continue through this annual event.”

Over 90 people were able to participate in the event that included breakfast, lunch and raffle prizes. Top 3 teams and high shooter awards were given out.

“Suicide prevention is everyone’s business and SPCC is encouraged that MTech is addressing mental health and suicide prevention in the workplace as a company pillar. The generosity we received from the MTech community and company is above and beyond what our non-profit ever imagined,” Maranda Miller, SPCC Collaboration Committee Chair.

The MTech Shoot Committee and SPCC Board Members met via Zoom to present and receive the donation.
